   Part I

   Morning: the Grand Mosque

   Bursa's Ulu Cami, with its twenty domes and the fountain inside the prayer hall, then the old silk market of Koza Han next door.

   Part II

   Midday: the Green Mosque and Tomb

   The turquoise tiles of the Green Tomb and the Green Mosque, built for Sultan Mehmed I, and the quiet streets around them.

   

3. III

   Part III

   Afternoon: up the mountain

   The cable car to Uludağ, lunch among the pines, and snow from December to March. Down by evening for the drive home.
