The conciergeIstanbul trade fairs 2027: dates, venues and logistics

Istanbul hosts some of the largest trade fairs in the region. The hall is booked months ahead; the hotel, the cars and the interpreters should be too.

In short

  • Major Istanbul trade fairs in 2027 include the Istanbul International Furniture Fair (19–23 January), EMITT tourism fair (4–6 February), the Istanbul Jewelry Show (spring and autumn) and WIN Eurasia (2–5 June).
  • The two big exhibition venues are on the European side, west of the centre: Istanbul Expo Center in Yeşilköy and TÜYAP in Büyükçekmece. Congresses use Lütfi Kırdar and the Istanbul Congress Center in Harbiye, and the Haliç Congress Center.
  • Istanbul Airport (IST) is the easier airport for every fair venue. TÜYAP is about 50 km from IST but around 80 km from Sabiha Gökçen.
  • Book rooms near the venue early. For the largest fairs, hotels close to the halls fill months ahead; twelve weeks out is a sensible minimum.

Istanbul trade fairs 2027 begin in the first week of January and run, with short breaks, until the end of the year. For an exhibitor, the stand is only part of the work: the rooms near the hall, the shipping deadlines, the daily cars and the interpreters decide how well the team performs on the floor.

This guide lists major fairs with confirmed 2027 dates, explains the main exhibition venues and their distances from both airports, and covers hotels, logistics, visas and interpreters for exhibitors and trade visitors alike.

Two dates in the 2027 calendar affect every fair. Ramadan runs from 8 February to 8 March, and Eid al-Fitr is a public holiday from the afternoon of 8 March to 11 March. Eid al-Adha follows from the afternoon of 15 May to 19 May. Hotels and domestic flights are in heavy demand around both holidays; see our guide to Ramadan in Istanbul.

The main exhibition venues in Istanbul

Istanbul's large fairs take place at two venues on the European side, west of the centre. Congresses and smaller exhibitions use central venues near Taksim and on the Golden Horn.

Istanbul Expo Center (İFM), Yeşilköy

Istanbul Expo Center, known in Turkish as İstanbul Fuar Merkezi, stands in Yeşilköy in the Bakırköy district, beside the former Atatürk Airport. The M1A metro stops at DTM–İstanbul Fuar Merkezi station, inside the complex. EMITT, the Istanbul Jewelry Show, IDEF and WIN Eurasia are held here.

TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center, Büyükçekmece

TÜYAP sits on the western edge of the city where Büyükçekmece, Beylikdüzü and Esenyurt meet, about 40 km from Taksim. The metrobus terminus at Beylikdüzü is the nearest public transport. Automechanika Istanbul, Expomed Eurasia and Intermob are held here, and the furniture fair uses both TÜYAP and İFM.

Lütfi Kırdar, the Istanbul Congress Center and Haliç

The Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Istanbul Congress Center stand side by side in Harbiye, a short walk from Taksim and Nişantaşı. The Haliç Congress Center is on the Golden Horn at Sütlüce. These host congresses, medical meetings and smaller exhibitions, and they are the easiest venues to reach from central hotels.

How far is each venue from the airports?

Istanbul Airport (IST) is the easier airport for every fair venue, because all of them are on the European side. The times below are typical for a private car outside rush hour; at peak times add 30–50%.

If your team flies in from several cities, ask everyone to book into IST where possible. Our Istanbul airport transfer guide explains both airports in more detail.

Trade fair hotels in Istanbul: where to stay

The best trade fair hotels in Istanbul are the ones closest to your hall, booked early. During the largest fairs, rooms near the venues fill months ahead and room rates rise.

  • For Istanbul Expo Center: Yeşilköy, Florya, Ataköy and Bakırköy, a short drive from the halls.
  • For TÜYAP: Beylikdüzü and Büyükçekmece are closest, with fewer high-end options. Many teams stay nearer the centre and accept a longer drive.
  • For Harbiye and Haliç: Taksim, Nişantaşı and the Bosphorus shore, often within walking distance or a short drive.

The choice is a trade-off between the morning commute and the evening. A hotel by the hall gives your team an extra hour of sleep; a hotel in the centre makes client dinners easier. For a team of more than ten, we usually suggest holding a block of rooms near the venue twelve weeks out, with names added later. Our Stays page explains how we choose and hold rooms.

Exhibitor logistics: stand, shipping and deadlines

An Istanbul fair is won or lost in the twelve weeks before it opens. The organiser's exhibitor manual sets the deadlines; these are the ones that matter most:

  1. Stand design and builder: agreed about ten weeks out, with power, water and internet ordered from the organiser by its deadline.
  2. Shipping: samples and materials on their way about six weeks out. Türkiye accepts ATA Carnets for goods brought in temporarily for fairs; a forwarder experienced with exhibitions handles customs and delivery to the hall.
  3. Staff and interpreters: briefed about three weeks out, on your products and your expected visitors.
  4. Build day: someone from your side, or someone you trust, walks the stand with the builder and tests the lights, screens and furniture.

Our trade fair service keeps this calendar for you, in full or only for the parts your team cannot do from home.

Visas and invitation letters

Visa rules depend on nationality. Many visitors are visa-exempt for short stays or can apply online for Türkiye's e-Visa, which is valid for tourism and commerce, including visiting a fair. Nationalities outside the e-Visa system apply at a Turkish consulate. There, an invitation letter from the fair organiser or from a Turkish company you are meeting, with proof of your registration, supports the application. Apply early: consular appointments before a large fair can be hard to get.

Interpreters and stand staff

A good interpreter on the stand is often the difference between a conversation and a contract. For a fair, consecutive interpreters who stand with your sales team work best; simultaneous interpretation is for seminars and conference sessions.

Four people in a business meeting around a table, one man in a dark suit speaking while holding papers
An interpreter who has been briefed on your products is worth more than one who simply speaks the language.

Brief interpreters on your catalogue, prices and technical terms before the fair, not on the morning of opening. Interpreters for Arabic, Russian, English and other languages can be arranged; rarer languages need more notice. Stand hostesses, a coordinator and an assistant for the team leader can be arranged through our personal support service.

Visiting a trade fair in Istanbul as a buyer or delegation

Visiting a trade fair in Istanbul needs less preparation than exhibiting, but the same rules about hotels and cars apply. Register online in advance to avoid the badge queue, and plan meetings with exhibitors before you arrive. For a delegation, one car per small group, a coordinator with the schedule and a table booked for each evening keep the days productive. Our meetings and events team arranges client dinners and private visits around the fair.

The halls are the reason for the trip. Everything around them, planned early, is what lets the team give the fair its full attention.

Questions

Where are the main trade fair venues in Istanbul?

The two largest are Istanbul Expo Center (İFM) in Yeşilköy, next to the former Atatürk Airport, and the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center in Büyükçekmece, on the city's western edge. Conferences and smaller exhibitions use the Lütfi Kırdar centre and the Istanbul Congress Center in Harbiye, and the Haliç Congress Center on the Golden Horn.

When is the Istanbul Furniture Fair in 2027?

The Istanbul International Furniture Fair (IIFF) is scheduled for 19–23 January 2027, at the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center and Istanbul Expo Center, according to TÜYAP's fair calendar. Check the organiser's site before booking, as dates can change.

When is the Istanbul tourism fair (EMITT) in 2027?

EMITT, the East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition, takes place on 4–6 February 2027 at Istanbul Expo Center, according to the organiser.

Which airport is closest to Istanbul Expo Center?

Istanbul Airport (IST), about 40 km by road, usually 35–50 minutes outside rush hour. Sabiha Gökçen is around 58 km away across the Bosphorus and takes considerably longer.

Do I need a visa to visit a trade fair in Istanbul?

It depends on your nationality. Many visitors are visa-exempt or can use Türkiye's e-Visa, which covers tourism and commerce. Others apply at a Turkish consulate, where an invitation letter from the organiser or a Turkish company helps.

Can I bring exhibition goods into Türkiye temporarily?

Yes. Türkiye accepts ATA Carnets for goods brought in temporarily for fairs and exhibitions, and there is also a temporary import procedure. A customs broker or freight forwarder experienced with fairs should handle the paperwork.

How do I get to Istanbul Expo Center by metro?

Take the M1A metro line, which runs from Yenikapı towards the former Atatürk Airport, to DTM–İstanbul Fuar Merkezi station, the stop before the terminus. The station sits inside the Istanbul World Trade Center complex, so you walk straight to the halls of Istanbul Expo Center. From central hotels, reach Yenikapı on the M2 metro or the Marmaray line. At opening and closing time the trains are crowded, so a car is calmer for a team with samples or bags.

How do I get to TÜYAP from central Istanbul?

TÜYAP is about 40 km west of Taksim, so most exhibitors go by car. By public transport, take the metrobus to the last stop of the 34BZ line at Beylikdüzü, close to the TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center; you can join the metrobus at Zincirlikuyu from the M2 metro. From Istanbul Airport, Havaist runs a Beylikdüzü–TÜYAP shuttle bus. At closing time thousands leave together, which is why a car waiting at an agreed gate saves the team a long queue.

When is the Istanbul Jewelry Show in 2027?

The Istanbul Jewelry Show is held twice in 2027, from 31 March to 3 April and from 6 to 9 October, both times at Istanbul Expo Center in Yeşilköy, according to the organiser. It is a trade show for jewellery manufacturers, wholesalers and buyers, so register in advance and book rooms near the venue early. The M1A metro stops inside the venue complex at DTM–İstanbul Fuar Merkezi station. Check the organiser's site before booking, as fair dates can change.
